FAQS
Is your honey unfiltered?
1
Yes. Our honey is unfiltered. Unfiltered honey means honey that has not passed through fine commercial filters, leaving behind natural elements like bee pollen, tiny particles of beeswax, and propolis.
Our honey has not gone through fine commercial filtration. It has only been lightly strained to remove larger clumps and natural debris, such as pieces of beeswax or bee parts, while preserving the character and natural qualities of the honey.
Is your honey raw?
2
Yes. Our honey is raw and unprocessed. We do not heat our honey or pass it through commercial processing methods. It is gently handled and bottled to preserve its natural flavor, color, and seasonal characteristics.
Where does your honey come from?
3
Our honey is harvested from hives located in Virginia Beach, including areas near First Landing State Park. The flavor, color, and texture of each jar reflect the flowers and plants visited by our bees throughout the season.
When stored properly, honey can last for many years. Keep your jar sealed and store it at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Over time, honey may naturally crystallize—this is normal and a sign of its natural state.
To return crystallized honey to a smoother texture, gently warm the jar in a bowl of warm water.

Does honey expire?
Why do you package your honey in glass jars?
5
We package Bea honey in glass because it is the gold standard for preserving the natural qualities of honey. Unlike some materials, glass does not react with honey or affect its flavor, aroma, or quality over time.
Glass also helps protect the character of each harvest, allowing the natural color, texture, and unique flavors of our Coastal Virginia honey to shine through.
Yes. We offer wholesale options for select retailers, cafes, and businesses interested in carrying Bea honey. Please reach out for more information.
